Dois Em Um Releases U.S. Debut LP

Brazilian Indie Group Brings their Refreshing Sound to Souvenir Records

February 2010 – Indie pop label, Souvenir Records adds Brazilian band Dois Em Um to their diverse roster. The album, which contains 11 tracks, “injects bossa nova into indie pop melancholy,” as described by Rolling Stone -- Brazil.

Dois Em Um is a project by Luisão Pereira and Fernanda Monteiro. Fernanda is the duo’s chelloist and provides the sultry vocals while Luisão plays guitars, bass, keyboards, and collaborates on the vocals.

Luisão, already an accomplished musician playing in several bands over the years, is well known for his time as guitarist and composer of the band Penélope (1996-2004). Fernanda is a classically trained musician who has already recorded and played live with Kid Bee, Maria Bethania, Frank Sinatra Jr., Gal Coast, Opera of the Hustler (Chico Buarque), and presently plays in the Symphony Orchestra of Bahia, Brazil.

Only a year old, Dois Em Um has attracted the attention of native country Brazil and the foreign press. In November of 2008, "E Se Chover" was voted best song in 2008 in Premio Bahia de todos os Rocks (Bahia of all that Rocks http://www.bahiadetodososrocks.com.br).

About Me

Souvenir Records was inspired by famed labels such as Factory, Sarah, and Creation. Those record labels meant a lot to indie kids everywhere, particularly with their distinctive sound and unique cover art. For the founders of Souvenir Records, it was those groundbreaking labels that inspired the vision for their own label.
